Botanical Watercolor (2020) During the COVID-19 pandemic this class quickly switched from an immersive in person experience to finding natural inspiration from in and around our homes. Students explored watercolor techniques while observing the diversity of plant form, color, and texture. |
CommonBond Communities -
Artist in Residence (2019, 2020) Residents of Riverview and Norwood Square Communities participated in this ten week workshop on Nature Inspired Watercolors. Ending in a culminating exhibition that empowered artists to share their interest in being lifelong learners. This program provides arts programs to seniors living in affordable housing communities. |

Creativity Academy (2020, 2019, 2018) Fostering creativity, critical thinking, communication, and collaboration for six schools across the Twin Cities. Resident Artists focus on centering art curriculum around artwork found within the museum and relevance to student lives. Each year ends in a culminating exhibition of student work displayed at the museum. Family Day (2019) Love Our Lakes was a free workshop that highlighted Minnesota's 10,000 lakes through art. Chelsea lead an Agates with Watercolor workshop. Participants learned about agates, a special type of rock with beautiful patterns. They painted the rock formations with watercolor and salt. |

Art + Nature Camp (2019) A week long summer camp that immersed students in art making and natural education. Students learned about creative processes that use natural materials at the center of art making. Students explored and examined the natural world through up close investigation. |

FLOW Community Mural (2015) Lead by artist Melodee Strong. The community and local artists came together to create a mural that represents North Minneapolis. Families and youth attended planning sessions that inspired the mural design. Artists pulled the design together. In collaboration artists and the community worked together to complete the final mural. |
